Requirements at the time of Interview:
§ Every student must be accompanied by a parent.
§ Original birth certificate issued by the K.M.C or Cantonment Board and the original report card showing the Class 5 – Mid-Term result. If for some reason, the school refuses to give the report card, only then a Photostat of the said result attested bythe Principal of the concerned school will be accepted
§ Only students who have a command of the English Languageshould apply for a seat.
§ NO 12 YEAR OLD child is eligible for admission.
2. Selection Tests in English and Mathematics will be held onSaturday, 13th March 2010 from 9 am to 12 noon
Requirements at the time of Test:
§ Students should report at St. Patrick’s High School, main Quadrangle/Secondary Assembly Area, at 8:30 a.m., along with the original yellow receipt (that will be issued after the interview and test fees have been paid).
§ Students must bring along the necessary stationery (blue or black pen & pencil/protractor/compass for geometry) only. No paper & hardboard is needed).
3. Results will be declared at 12:00noon on Monday 22nd March 2010. (at the gate)
Successful students must see the headmaster at 9: 00 a.m. on Wednesday, 24th March 2010, along with the original yellow receipt,failing which they will lose their seats.
SYLLABUS TO ENTER CLASS VI (SIXTH) CAMBRIDGE SECTION FOR THE ACADEMIC SESSION 2010-11
English Language Syllabus
Composition: Must write creatively and in grammatically correct
English.
Narrative – personal experience, story.
Descriptive – places, persons.
Letters to parents, relations, friends.
Length of Composition – 3 paragraphs of 150-200
words.
Comprehension: Unseen passage
The answers must be in complete sentences and NOT merely copied from the passage.
Grammar: Parts of speech (nouns, verbs, adjectives, adverbs, conjunctions), Punctuation, direct / indirect speech, singular / plural, Masculine / feminine, subject – verb agreement, simple analysis, simple synthesis, tenses (simple present, past, future, present continuous, past continuous, future continuous).
Vocabulary: Antonyms, Synonyms – Homophones.
Mathematics Syllabus
1. Notation & Numeration upto 100,000,000.
2. Prime numbers
3. Factors,
4. H.C.F (Factor & Division Method)
5. L.C.M.(Division Method)
6. Long Multiplication & Division of natural numbers (upto five digit nos)
7. Fractions (Improper, Proper & Decimal) - Additions, Subtraction,
Multiplication & Division along with problem sums based on the same.
8. Squares & Square roots (division method) (No problem sums)
9. Percentages with problem sums based on the same.
10. Averages with problem sums based on the same.
11. Definition and illustration of Point, Line, Line Segment, Ray,

13. Bisection of line Segments with steps of construction.
